Nadine Hubbs is a historian, theorist, and critic whose scholarship and media engagements take a musical perspective on U.S. society and culture. Her work on country music includes Rednecks, Queers, and Country Music; the Dolly Parton’s America podcast; the Uncharted Country collection; and a book in progress on Mexican Americans and country music. Hubbs has previously written about “Coat of Many Colors” for the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress. She teaches women’s and gender studies, music, and American culture at the University of Michigan.
