Edward Shanks was an English novelist, poet, literary critic, and journalist; before he served in World War I, he was briefly editor of the literary journal Granta. The People of the Ruins (1920) is his only science fiction novel. In October 2012, HiLoBooks will publish The People of the Ruins in a beautiful new edition.
