Author: E. and H. Heron
Flaxman Low is a fictional character created by British authors Hesketh Hesketh-Prichard and his mother, Kate O'Brien Ryall Prichard, who published under the collective pseudonym "E. and H. Heron." From 1898-1899 Pearson's Magazine published Flaxman Low stories. The collected work — twelve stories in all — was published in 1899 as Ghosts: Being the Experiences of Flaxman Low. Although Low is not literature's first occult detective, his blend of skepticism and receptivity were a first.
