HiLobrow coeditor Joshua Glenn and contributor Joe Alterio (of Robots + Monsters) will be participating in a SXSW panel on the topic of “Indirect Collaboration” on Monday, March 15.
The panel is at 11 am, in Room 10AB of the Austin Convention Center.
Also on the panel:
- Tim Lillis, who does the excellent “Tricks of the Trade” series for MAKE Magazine, where he shares tips from professionals in various fields of work, showing you how to use your stuff better.
- Andrea Grover, who curated the first exhibition exploring the phenomenon of crowdsourcing in art (PHANTOM CAPTAIN, apexart, New York, 2006), and, with artist Jon Rubin, organized an exhibit in which worldwide participants created a photo-sharing album of their imaginings on Tehran (NEVER BEEN TO TEHRAN, Parkinggallery, Tehran, Iran, 2008). Currently on view is 29 CHAINS TO THE MOON, an exhibition she curated for Carnegie Mellon University’s Miller Gallery, which continues her research into cooperation and distributed thinking across disciplines.
- Riley Crane, who is currently a “Society in Science” Branco Weiss fellow in the Human Dynamics group at the Media Lab at M.I.T. He is the co-founder of AppZoo.com, which uses “social intelligence” to help discover iPhone apps, and is also the co-founder of Charity Note, which harnesses the vast power of social systems in order to collect millions of dollars for charity. Riley is best known for leading the MIT team that won the DARPA Red Balloon challenge.
