SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN | 1952 | STANLEY DONEN & GENE KELLY
Tonight, California’s rain is heavier than usual. Kathy says goodbye to Don with a kiss on the mouth. Don is so happy that he goes home singing and dancing, because nothing shows more happiness than singing and dancing in the rain. When a policeman sees him, he gives him a warning. When Leonard Bernstein sees him, he states it is life-affirming. Don is Gene Kelly, and Gene is even more radiant than his character because he has just achieved the most iconic rain scene in film history.
