I’m throwing out old financial records, this month. Here are a few documents casting a cold light on the period after Tripod.com and before the Boston Globe, i.e., when the HERMENAUT project was ending.

2nd half 1999 — $7.5k freelancing for FEED, UTNE READER, TRIPOD.COM, BRITANNICA.COM

February 2000 — $350 to write on the topic of “Shit and Dust” for LINGUA FRANCA

February 2000 — $20k advance from Basic Books, for a book tentatively titled THE HERMENAUT

September 2002 — Part-time copy editing work at THE BOSTON GLOBE, $30.96 per hour
