Low Priority Hero

Night. Los Angeles.

He’s listening for distress. Scanning the police radio. Pulling pain from the ether.

But not all emergencies share the same frequency.

Some the police will be late for… or they won’t show up at all.

An elderly man, pushing an empty shopping cart, unable to remember his home address…. an obese woman in a manic phase, pulling wires from a phone box. … a dog trapped in a car on a dead end street…

These are the calls from the fringes. Where everything matters. And no one cares.

Except him.

He’s not a cop. Just a man with a good response time. Taking the calls others consider “low priority.”
