HiLobrow wants to thank everyone who voted for THE SECRETS AND SURPRISES OF DIY PROMOTION panel, which has been accepted for the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival!
Organized by Jeff Potter (Cooking For Geeks) and moderated by Anindita Basu Sempere (executive director of The Writing Faculty), the DIY PROMOTION panel will explore the cross-genre “meta rules” of promoting your projects and work.
In addition to those just mentioned and HILOBROW’s Joshua Glenn, Laura Fitton, CEO of the social business consultancy oneforty, will be on the panel.
Questions Answered:
How do you get on shows like the Today Show and covered in national media? Is it worth it?
What are common misconceptions abut how media coverage actually works?
How can you “DIY”?
What do we wish we’d heard in advance instead of learned the hard way?
What surprises and “unknown unknowns” did we encounter during the process of pitching to sponsors, publishers, the media, etc.?
DIY PROMOTION is listed under “Startup Village,” at the Downtown Austin Hilton — along with panels organized by Tim Hwang (ROFLCon, The Awesome Foundation), Michelle Zatlyn (CloudFlare), Diana Kimball (Photojojo), and Devon Giddon (Thrillist), among others.
See you there…
