Hilobrow.com’s redesign

Readers! As you’ve noticed, we’ve recently redesigned HiLobrow.com. Many thanks to Rob Tourtelot, for all his work on our behalf.
Why did we go from four to three boxes across on the homepage? Because we prefer the way it looks, and also in order to make room for not one, but two new banner ads/sponsorship graphics. And not a moment too soon: both banners have already been reserved for the entirety of 2010, one by the Culture Pundits ad network, and the other by a munificent sponsor (to be revealed come January). But this doesn’t mean that we can’t take your money, too. If you’re interested in sponsoring HiLobrow.com or advertising with us, please get in touch. You can also help HiLobrow.com, and spread the word about your business or website or art project, by advertising with Culture Pundits.
How will we use the proceeds from these arrangements? To fund an Artist in Residence series (a new guest blogger, each month); a Visiting Scholar series (10 essays in 2010, all from a single scholar); as well as the HiLo Heroes series and other projects. Our kickoff Artist in Residence, and our 2010 Visiting Scholar, have already been recruited! We’ll introduce them both in the weeks ahead.
Our roster of talent is unparalleled! Some combination of Luc Sante, Peggy Nelson, Douglas Wolk, Joe Alterio, Annie Nocenti, Greg Rowland, Ingrid Schorr, Lynn Peril, Franklin Bruno, Katie Hennessey, James Parker, David Smay, Mark Kingwell, Erik Davis, Matthew De Abaitua, Mimi Lipson, Tom Nealon, Patrick Cates, Jason Grote, Sarah Weinman, and Tor Aarestad, not to mention HiLobrow.com editors Matthew Battles and Joshua Glenn, publishes here every day. To receive our once-a-day email digest, click on the DAILY EMAIL FEED button at top right of the page.
Finally, we’ll soon launch a store selling HiLobrow t-shirts (they’re already printed and ready to mail) and other necessary stuff. Keep an eye peeled — nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a HiLobrow shirt.
Stick around, friends. The year 2010 will be a productive and exciting one at HILOBROW.
