Don’t Go Back to School

Dropping out, and educating yourself: these are subjects dear to HILOBROW’s heart.

Our friend Kio Stark (a grad school refugee) is planning to write “a handbook for independent learning that shows you how to learn almost anything without school.” Don’t Go Back to School will deconstruct the basic infrastructure that school provides — things like resources, expertise, evaluation, and a learning community,” and it will profile passionate learners who have taught themselves subjects like programming, history, writing, design, art, engineering, business, languages, philosophy, and many other skills, trades, and disciplines.

Kio is looking to raise $14,500.00, via Kickstarter, to cover her expenses. As of this posting, she’s at $12,594.00. Rewards include: copies of the book, a Don’t Go Back to School t-shirt, and a phone consultation with Kio herself. Act now! Your donation matters!
