We’ve mentioned Karel Čapek’s 1921 play, R.U.R.: Rossum’s Universal Robots, which expressed the Czech author’s fear of the unlimited power of corporations, and which coined the term “robot,” several times before.
Here’s a fun announcement, nabbed off eBay by a friend of ours, for the never-made 1927 Paramount version of R.U.R. It woulda-coulda-shoulda been super sensational!
