New Wave at 30

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of two of my favorite New Wave songs, according to the mysterious and addictive New Wave Time Warp blog.

Blondie’s “Call Me” single came out April 3, 1980.

The Cure’s “A Forest” single was released April 3, 1980. NWTW says of this video, “Here’s a very early, radically different version of the song performed on French TV in 1979 (it starts about 1:20 in). I can guarantee you’ve never heard it like this. Highly recommended.”
