Artist Michael Pope, whose seminal experimental film-event Neovoxer united hundreds of underground artists in its creation, turns to the internet-as-medium to create a hyper fiction motion picture.
An ergodic dark comedy that is both love story and action adventure movie chronicling the creative process, Cinematika uses the art and fictional history of film-making as a launching pad for personal evolution.
Beginning with a traditional film script posted online, Pope (here an artist-as-character) uses the internet to mirror the mind’s endless landscape of thought. Incorporating hyperlinks to real and fictional footnotes, hidden wormholes to secret scenes, footage and music, live making-of webcasts, production notes, interviews and sketches, Cinematika is not just a movie, it is a movie-making.
